I.have been baffled at the use of nate carter. I guess I was less confused seeing that we were down 3 RBs, so the use was inevitable. However, what I don't understand is how Burt was never really given a thought because of him. I think of this as a jamaal Williams case- the kid only got on the field his freshman year because Alisa broke his arm- I'm willing to bet had Alisa stayed healthy, we would not have seen true freshman jamaal. Some could argue that having jamaal play early sped up his development as a runner.
Then there is Trey Dye- the guy should be returning punts at the very least. I also think and believe that he should be ahead of carter on the depth chart- this gives mangum a receiver out of the backfield with the speed of a running back. Besides, if they just use him for a stupid jet sweep, what difference does pitching the ball to him make?
So my realization is this- I am surprised talented guys that are buried behind less talent don't pack their bags and go other places. It seems to me that with this coaching staff, once you're out of a rotation, you're done.
