I think the biggest difference is us fans & our memory.
Conflating our memories of KVN as a Jr & Sr with our memories of him as a Fr (where he hardly played) & Soph. Yes, he did some very good things as an underclassmen, but so has Warner.

Another difference is their supporting casts, I think. We didn't have a dominant, athletic playmaker in the like of Langi when KVN was an underclassman. Tautu, too, has been looking like that sort of player in our last few games. Would a Soph KVN really had looked all that much better than Tautu did Sat? I'm not so sure. Tautu is not only a good athlete, but is older, & obviously bigger and stronger than Warner (& a Soph KVN, for that matter--who I'm not sure was any bigger than Warner right now).

Will Warner ever be the type of playmaker Van Noy was? I kinda doubt it. But even still, it's WAY too early to tell. Warner's shown enough as a youngster to make me believe that stardom is still in his future as a Coug.
