Disney is considering/will adopt dynamic pricing for park admission.
Late last year and early this year, Disney quietly polled season pass holders about variable pricing, depending on demand. Three pricess were bandied about - $99 for the "slowest" time of the year, $125 for peak months and $110 for everything in between.

Reports are coming out, today, that Disney will go ahead with that plan. They announced today that their premium annual pass was going up from $750+ to just over $1,000. Industry experts expect Disney to announce dynamic pricing shortly.

Disney's problem is that despite ever increasing admission, their parks are bursting with guests. Rather than shut down the parks, when the reach capacity, they have steadily increased prices and eliminated some local-resident passes in the hope that people would voluntarily not go to the parks. When park start closing because of capacity issues, people to make plans to spend their dollars elsewhere and may not always return.

The announcement of Star Wars Land will ensure that if any potential guests decide they have been priced out, they will be replaced by others.
