Four pods of five teams could schedule well
9 game conference schedule, rotating pods you play everyone once every three years.

A challenge how to schedule in the conference rivalry game every year - seems like it would be important. Rivals would have to be in the same pod, but what happens to the 5th team in the pod? Someone could probably think of something with a little time. Division champs would not play each other during the year - good conference championship without having a clearly superior division year in and year out due to the rotations? Not sure how you would fit in ND in all of this though, nor how you structure all of the other sports.

Only commenting on the structure with 20 teams, nothing else. Three twenty team conferences anyone? Not saying it will happen, but it could work should the powers that be decide it.

I will leave the rest to Bluebrotha and his opponents.
