in and didn't fault me for being upset about it. She felt bad about the whole situation so it was really hard to be mad at her about it. I of course felt like a complete tool and at that point I was sure that text had sealed my fate if it wasn't already sealed.

But girl #1 even brought me cookies to try and make me feel at least a little better about it all. The night she brought me cookies, my future wife was over at my place with a couple of other friends of my roommate. My future wife then heard the sad story as the rest of the girls asked about the cookies. This was all right before I was heading out to go on a date with girl #2. I didn't start dating my future wife until a couple of weeks later after things with girl #2 ended.
