Clemson and FSU joining big 12 interesting

BIG goes after UNC, Duke, UVA and most likely MD, as it would firmly entrench the BIG as THE conference in the entire mid-Atlantic from PA to NC.
Lot of money in those markets for the BIG network and Duke, UNC and UVA are all top notch schools.

At the same time, SEC will be pushing hard for VA Tech and NC State if they see the ACC breaking up. They'd rather have those two than FSU and Clemson, and under this scenario, it could actually happen.

With all of these events happening at the same time, GA Tech and Miami, along with Pitt, Syracuse, BC, etc will all be in scramble mode as they see the conference coming apart.

All of a sudden the B12 would look very good to GA Tech and Miami, especially with FSU and Clemson already on board.

Add Pitt, who'd also be looking for a home, and give ND an ultimatum to $#@! or get off the pot.

If ND comes, great, if not, add Louisville to complete a WVU, Pitt, ISU pod and be done.

UT, Tech, TCU, Baylor
OU, OSU, KU, KSU
FSU, GA Tech, Miami, Clemson
WVU, Pitt, Louisville, ISU

That is a bad [censored by cougarboard] conference that would make a ton of $$$ and provide good matchups.

BIG would also look good from an overall profile. Huge moneymaker and strong academics, with enough traditional B10 powers to keep football relevant.

Having UM, MSU, OSU and PSU in one pod would be too unbalanced for the BIG's taste, so I would think it would look like:

UM, MSU, IL, Northwestern
OSU, PSU, IU, Purdue
Wiscy, NE, MN, Iowa
UNC, UVA, Duke, MD

Every team gets a protected rivalry with a team from an other pod.

If the B12 and BIG bulked up under that scenario, I don't see the PAC expanding. No one good enough left to add value that would make sense.

PAC would be smallest of the the four conferences, but would be way stronger than whatever the remnants of the ACC/Beast looked like, and would have enough strong teams and national credibility to still get into a playoff on a regular basis if it was 3 con champs + 1 wildcard."
