I think the service academy HCs have it worse.
Their academic requirements are much tougher. All signees have to SERVE ACTIVE DUTY FOR YEARS afterwards, which basically means low to no professional athletic career possibilities. During their mandatory service they have low pay compared to their academic equals at other schools, often hazardous duty and very little choice in where they are stationed and for how long.

Yeah, not a lot of kids lining up to sign on for that gig I'd imagine.
