I sat next to a girl from Davis, Olivia Wade, who is a sophomore and already committed to play soccer at BYU. She was just returning home from a week long training with the U17 women's national team. She's a starter for the national team and committed as a 14 year old to BYU. Wow I didn't even know we recruited athletes that young. Her brother is Jesse Wade who was Mr Basketball in Utah this year who is serving a mission in Lyon France same as TJ Haws. I told her we want her to talk him into changing his mind and coming to BYU after his mission. She said he grew up dreaming about playing at BYU but the coaches recruited him knowing that and waited to offer him. She said Gonzaga heard about that and came in and recruited him hard like he was the perfect fit for their program and told him they could see him being the next great Zag PG. I wonder if that's gonna come back to bite us big-time. I hope not. By the way, Olivia was one of the most impressive young women I've ever met. It sounds like we're getting the soccer version of Frank Jackson and Jabari Parker, only despite being able to play anywhere in the country, she chose us.
