I love my Ridgid tools. Free battery replacement for the life of the tools. Never had to use it, but man, that is a great perk. Batteries are expensive.

I'd get the regular drill to drill holes, impact to drive screws, bolts, etc.

20v is preferable but more $$$ 18v is more than sufficient for a DIY guy.
