I feel like I have a love/hate relationship with job recruiters
I love that I can post my resume on Monster or Indeed and they reach out to me with job opportunities. What I hate is all the stuff they do after putting you in contact with a potential employer. They almost always embellish the job opportunity to make it sound like you'd be a fool to turn it down. Also, they put a lot of pressure on you to make a commitment before even getting an offer. They want you to already be 100% committed to accepting the offer the second it comes. I like my current job and really like my boss, but it has been nothing like what was described to me by the recruiter. She told me I would be joining a growing team and there would be opportunities for career advancement. I've had this position for almost a year and a half and am still the only member of the team. So much for it being a growing team.

Now, on a whim, I put my resume out on Indeed and have gone through the interview process for another company. I can tell that the recruiter is trying to do everything she can to get me to accept the offer if and when it comes. Having gone through this experience before, I just don't know how much I can trust her.
