Little recruited James Robinson breaks the IL all time career rushing record of 8,477 yards on his 4th carry of the game tonight. He already broke the all time rushing touchdown record in his first game this year.
We're not associated with this team as our school is not in the same conference and not even in the same division (they are 3A or 4A each year and we are 5-6A). Our school had an away game and we usually stay home with my young sons when the local school is away but tonight the boys and I went to watch this game. They liked being there for a part of history.
James Robinson had 228 yards and 5 TD's on the night (he needed 25 yards for the record coming in).
The Tigers keyed on Robinson the whole night and were selling out to stop him. I was surprised to see a well rounded Lutheran team just use other tools when necessary. They had a nice passing game going as well.
Best part of the night for me was when Lutheran was on defense and Robinson was playing safety. He had a crushing hit on the Byron running back and the PA announcer said "Mr Carlson meet James Robinson". He had another jarring hit later in the game as well.
Very nice kid by all accounts. Has an ACT score that qualifies him under the new rules to play as a freshman for B1G schools and currently has all A's & B's this year.
