When referring to "BYU should still win every game even though their Sr hiesman candidate QB is out and lost their soon to be all time BYU all time leading rusher RB,etc..." And there is no excuse for BYU to lose games due to injury.
Ok, let's think of it another way. Earth to world.......BYU is NOT ohio state, it is not Alabama, it is not USC, etc. BYU is lucky to have a few players on the starting team that ate as good as those teams and BYU doesn't have NEAR the depth. And I am sure everyone can figure out why, but BYU has never had that level of talent and never will. Ever. But this isn't unique to BYU but 110 other teams. There are about 10-15 teams that can do it and that's about it (bama, LSU, auburn, OSU, Michigan, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Oregon, ND and a few teams that can come close.....Tennessee, ucla, Stanford, Wisconsin, aTm, maybe I am missing a couple)
Plus, the WHOLE reason everyone knows about OSUs 3rd string QB is because that level of play hardly ever happens at any level of sports by a 3rd stringer. In other words, it was a surprise and NoT the norm.
Btw, I have a feeling that even if BYU coaches had that happen to them, they would be criticized for only playing the starter because he was an upperclassman and not because of true talent and that the coaches need to play talent over experience and how dare they have a guy on the bench with that much talent and not even know it, after all they see him everyday in practice.
