There's no reason for Church members to disparage their Church's football team.
As a UofU grad and a resident of the neighborhood just south of the UofU, I've been dealing with it for my entire life. Constructive criticism of the team is welcome (that's why we have Cougarboard), but what happens here around town goes WAY beyond that.

Those of us who are enduring the Mormon-to-Mormon disparaging have become mostly numb to it, but I say "mostly" because we sometimes lose our cool and let their disparaging get to us, and then we re-resolve to "roll with the punches" (my favorite phrase from Jerry McGuire, although "you complete me" is gaining ground now that I've fallen in love with a girl who could be "the one").
