Purebred hunting dogs aren't cheap, and if you are going to pay that much money, then you will need to invest the time and money to train and work with the dog. My brother has a pointing lab which requires a lot of love and attention. Fortunately, he has young kids who really play with the dog a lot. When this dog was younger, my brother would have to work with him for a few hours every day (before he had kids). He earned some of the AKC qualifications with this dog, so that was a lot of fun for him.
