Are we still in the running for the national championship? Does it really matter all that much which bowl game we go to? I would suggest we take away ANY risk of Tanners hammy getting worse. They are a very tricky injury. Wagner will be great to give Hoge some confidence as well. Our schedule is now the perfect time to get Tanner plenty of time to get very healthy. Missing one game (no or limited time against Wagner) won't really hurt his progression. We need to get Hoge better prepared as a backup not only if we need him later this year but next year as well. Nothing like playing in games to do that. So what if we lose the Cincy game with Hoge. Won't teally change anything for this season. Maybe our defense steps up and we still win anyway. We need Tanner healthy to finish the last four games and win our bowl game. As we know all too well we are always one play away from losing the most important player on our team. We were very fortunate to have Tanner as a backup to begin with.
