On one hand you have a player who was suspended for breaking the law of chastity but there was an overwhelming show of support from his teammates and BYU community to help him make it back and finish his career at BYU which he did. For every Harvey Unga, there's a Kyle Van Noy story of a player who messed up and came clean to his coach and his coach bent over backwards for him to keep him in school and on the team. I can't remember where I read it but there was a story someone on here posted about a player who was was pretty much told the same thing about the honor code and when he went to meet Lavell, Lavell pulled out a long list of players who had struggled with the honor code but they all made it through their BYU career and were never kicked off the team.
