Take 9 of the best G5 teams and create a conference. Separate the conference into 3 pods where each team doesn't play every team every year....similar to the Pac12. Have only 6 conference games and allow teams to schedule 6 OOC games each season. Require teams to schedule at least 5 P5 teams of those 6 OOC games. If, in the future, the NCAA allows for a CCG in conferences less than 12 teams, perhaps a formula could be used to match up the top 2 teams in the conference. The in-conference games would fill in the late season gaps.
