So is free throw shooting a genetic thing?
I'm a poor athlete. My athletic career peaked in 8th grade.(made my junior high team, cut In high school). Every player shot 20 free throws at the end of each practice. Each week I made about 75/100. Even today 20 years later without ever practicing I can drain 7/10 once I warm up. Most of the guys I play pickup/church ball with can drain them too.

I wonder if our guys are shooting a high percentage in practice? Or just struggling under pressure in games?

I get that guys playing at a high level are under a ton of pressure. I'm convinced it must be a genetic hand/eye coordination thing. Its been shown even at the pro level that some guys just can't hit free throws. I'm sure KC shot more free throws this offseason than I've shot in my entire life. So what gives?

My theory is that athleticism/size is king. Lots of guys make it on sheer athleticism. (Especially bigs) but you'd think that with years of practice most college players should be hitting at least 70%....it just doesn't happen. Very strange
