He said that on his wedding night, while his wife was nervously climbing in bed, he ripped one and then gave a proud boy grin to kind of break the ice. He said it offended her dignity enough that he thought the wedding might get anulled. No consummation for about a week. Pretty much ruined the honeymoon...

This conversation was not told as a joke. Probably some of the best pre-marriage advice I received, actually. I have learned that not killing the mood can be a very important detail over the years!

In case you wondered, they are still together 30 years later, and happier by far than on their first week married!
