Expansion only occurs if Selection Committee shuts out Big 12 two years in a row so OKSt., Baylor and TCU can scream for expansion.
So you all know --- Lower half of Big 12 wants expansion. Upper half has been going along with the idea that it can make it with 10 because they feel they don't need the additional revenue of Championship game as long as they can get into playoffs. Lower half would prefer revenue share of championship game and want proof that outcome without championship game would be the same -- and have demanded to see proof that best team can get into playoff without championship game. Lower tier teams in Big 12 won't stand for another year without a team in playoffs and will have the votes to carry expansion. That's what I know.
BYU and CSU to Big12. UCF, Boise St, and Cincinnati are now off the table for expansion talk. CSU and BYU need their last two wins and bowl game wins to make enough noise to be invited.
Again, Pac-12 to look at expanding to 14 to potentially block Big12 from Utah/NV/AZ and Colorado TV Markets (BYU and CSU). Utah, Nevada and Colorado growing in TV market standings. People in high places have noticed. Just sayin'
