My wife and I have both gone shooting a couple times in our lives, but not enough to really know a lot about it. We want a gun in our home, but we want to be smart about it. At this point, it might be more of a danger than a protection.

Where can we start? We really want to take classes or something together and then when we get a handle on it, purchase one for our home.
