We have enjoyed attending away games all over the country. We got to visit Winter Quarters/Council Bluffs for the first time ever this fall because we went to the Nebraska game. We had a great visit to Missouri to see Church historical sites. In both places, we were able to attend those temples for the first time. The same was true for Michigan. We hated attending the Michigan game (ugh), but enjoyed our overall experience as traveling BYU fans, even in an embarrassing loss.
We have enjoyed other trips to Texas, Georgia, Florida, California, Indiana, Idaho, Oregon, etc., at fun venues since independence. That has been a great thing. I don't think Independence is a big problem. Yes, I'd prefer to be in a P5 conference, but I think BYU has done a good job with Independence. It was in a no win situation when Utah left for the Pac-12 and has done fairly well for itself. It is much better off now than it would have been as a member of the MWC.
