You made two claims in your post

While I agree with your second point that our current Indy schedule gives us a better shot at playoff consideration, I do not agree that the NY6 bowls have no meaning. From both financial and national perception perspectives, making - and especially winning - a NY6 bowl would be very significant.

I think part of that is because BYU is independent, which would change as a member of the AAC.
