Six Foot Seven All-American
Here's how it works:
He redshirted the 2014 season at Washington State.
His transfer to BYU became official on December 14, 2014.
This started the one calendar year clock in which he was required to not play in any games.
He has been burning a year of eligibility in 2015 because of the requirement to sit out for that calendar year.
The calendar year ends on December 14, 2015.
All bowl game options occur after December 14, 2015.
He is eligible to play in whichever bowl game BYU is invited to.

Canada would actually lose a game of eligibility if he did NOT play in the bowl game. This is the only game of his redshirt freshman season that he can play in. He will be a redshirt sophomore next season whether he plays in the bowl game or not.

There's your summary.
