I think QB expectations have risen over the past 40 years. Mangum's stats
are excellent, especially for a freshman, but I look forward to the day when BYU rules again as an offensive leader and its QBs regularly exceed 4000 yards. As far as interceptions, there is still room for improvement. Paxton Lynch of Memphis, for example, only had 3 while throwing for 28 touchdowns. Tanner was #25 among QBs for total passing yards. I would like to see us further diversify our passing attack with more throws to the tight ends up the middle and to the RBs out of the backfield, while maintaining the longball threat which has been better this year than it has for a while. I don't think TM quite made the top 40 in QB rating so I hope that continues to improve as well. It will be interesting to see how we adjust with the changes in the receiving corps.
