He ended up going to an OK private school, but is now making six figures (barely). I think if your bad grades don't reflect your capacity to excel, then you can still rise to the top of your field.

The degree itself isn't very employable. Add in a degree from a school w/ no GRE

Just take the GRE w/o prep. It isn't that hard. Then apply. Grad school is ++
