they've finally seen the light that they have to do something. those who oppose expansion realize there aren't 2 perfect candidates out there but also now realize that it's a must to stay competitive as a legit P5. hence all the elaborate studies, research, etc. they are also more careful b/c the tv media market bubble isn't what it used to be so you're not just adding the most eyeballs like you were before.
i really, really, really hope these analytics come out positive for BYU. i can't imagine how they would reflect too negatively, at least compared to other schools.
BYU's future as an athletic program, and even an institution, will likely be decided this summer when they extend 2 invitations. our prayer remains the following:
1. they don't venture into florida believing that, in the near future, they may be able to lure away FSU or miami.
2. once they throw WVU an eastern "partner" they are then free to add best option available (BYU)
3. the texas schools veto UH right off the bat to avoid further dilution of talent in texas market
4. BYU goes all out on selling all the positives they have, including BYUtv facilities, human capital, talent, technology, etc to help build B12 network. this unique position of strength will hopefully counter the only 2 negatives of geography and sunday play.
