Star Telegram: Big 12 would be more stable today had they taken BYU and
Louisville than WVU/TCU in 2011.

Interesting assertion in the heart of Texas.

"Truth be known, the time to enact Boren’s suggestions was in 2011, when Big 12 administrators voted down a Boren-led move to add Louisville as an 11th member and possibly seek a 12th school from a group that included Brigham Young. In retrospect, the league would have been more stable today, and probably just as sound financially, if those proposals had passed.

But they did not. Now, the Big 12 is going counter-flow with its 10-team model and facing the repercussions of past whiffs on key decisions. No one, including Bowlsby, seems to know the ideal size for the league."
