Since Utah is the state school, shouldn't the acceptance rate be sky high? ...
Isn't the purpose of a state university to educate as many people in Utah as possible all while providing a quality education?

I never understood the argument that "our school is much better because we accept proportionately fewer students." With a private school, it's a different analysis. It's ridiculous to compare the acceptance rates of public vs. private schools.
