i think it would be more accurate to say that Carlino demanded to play PG. KC willingly played elsewhere until Matt proved he was a dysfunctional leader.
KC does want to play PG on this team and it is good that he embraces it. No one else is close to him in that regard. Certainly not the excessively emotional Emery, though Nick would be much better than Matt.
So it's a mute point about what KC's preference is. His interests and the team's interests are absolutely in line with regard to him playing PG. It worked better last year with Halford, Haws and Winder helping with the leadership. Emery and Fischer are no help in that regard. Finger pointers are no help.
He will gladly play elsewhere at the next level where he doesn't have to be primarily responsible to manage egos.
Wouldn't bet on it, but the way these guys stepped it up on defense to defeat Gonzaga, Pepperdine, and St Mary's, they might still figure out a way to make a run at the right time in Las Vegas. They have the talent and don't need an overhaul to be good, just a tweaking
