I've been playing with mobile notifications the last few days. For those of you using the Chrome browser on Android, you can now set up mobile notifications. Right now, you'll only get notified about boardmails, but I'll add some additional notifications over time, with the settings needed for them.

The notifications work on desktop Chrome as well, although I'm not sure how popular that will be.

You can access the Notifications page under your user menu in the top right.

For those complaining that this is a subscriber-only feature, the way it works requires that all pages be HTTPS, which is only the case for subscribers. Our ad networks aren't ready to go all in on HTTPS yet, so I haven't been able to do HTTPS for everyone yet.

iOS does not support browser notifications yet. This is true for Chrome on iOS as well as Safari. When they do support it, I should be able to set that up as well.
