if it's a crippling amount of unsecured debt...bankruptcy might not be a bad
option.

i'm not joking. it's at least worth consulting a reputable BK attorney in your area to see if you'd be able to protect the assets you have given your state's exemptions and get rid of all this unsecured debt hanging over your head from previously failed marriages and allow you both to "start fresh" in your new marriage.

the non-BK answer is to strictly adhere to a monthly BUDGET and try to pay it off. if you can manage that...great. if you still can't, you might need the help BK can offer. usually crappy life events (medical issues, death, divorce) trigger the need for BK and i've seen people spend their life savings trying to pull their way out of insurmountable debt that is otherwise dischargeable and, IMHO, you're just throwing your money down the drain.
