Yes, I have 2. The first was a wedding present and was purchased as a refurb for about $350. It has lasted 13 years with only 1 repair of getting a new cord, and regular maintenance - belts, bags, hoses. The 2nd I bought last year as a backup, also a refurb, and I got a smoking deal for $100 on a 2 year old model because I have a family member that works at the store.

If you go to the Kirby store, you can usually find a good deal on a refurb model that will last you for 15+ years. They are a great investment.
