78 second gen looks better than the 79+ i agree. as for the 90s f-body, i find
The Formula trim (no ground effects) to be superior (and lighter) than the trans-am, which sort of resembles a fat box. My 1994 formula was a hoot.

Off roaders have also maintained their style through generations:
four runner
Land cruiser
Wrangler
Discovery
And range rover have all maintained their classic form.
Grand Cherokee through WJ and the early wk. But the never models and the new Cherokee don't really fit.
