to perform a full-scale economic analysis on expansion candidates is a big plus for BYU. Unlike when the conference added TCU and WVU, it appears that the conference is actually doing due diligence as compared to just spending a weekend drinking with an AD or university president. I think there is little doubt that the financial metrics are going to strongly support BYU. So if the university presidents decide to go in a different direction because BYU is weird or because of Sunday play, at least the analysis is going to make it a lot harder on them. They will have hard data regarding the money that they are walking away from.
