Emery has logged the most freshman minutes at 30.2 (almost 5 more minutes than KC, Mika and Haws). I included Carlino, in the 11-12 season. I thought about not including him since he was a transfer from a D1 program but it technically was still his freshman year.
Here is the breakdown of average minutes/game by Freshman
05-06: 24.8
06-07: 16.5
07-08: 49 (Jimmer, Chris Collinsworth)
08-09: 22
09-10: 39.9
10-11: 25.7 (KC was the only freshman with PT)
11-12: 65.6 (Carlino, Winder, Austin, Harrison)
12-13: 13.8
13-14: 47.9 (Mika)
14-15: 50.6 (a ton of guys in the post just trying to find a body and then Toolson. Most likely zero future starters in that group)
15-16: 67.7 (This number will most likely continue to increase as the season goes on. Last night we had 93 minutes logged by freshman. 93!!!)
The takeaway from this is next year I might expect again to be in the 50 range with Haws (30 min?), Childs, and Dastrup. So we very well may see some more ups and downs just like we are seeing this year.......but 17-18 and 18-19 are going to be loaded with a junior and senior rosters and lineups that will see very little change.
