My oldest was born right after I graduated from college but hadn't found a "real" job yet - so I was still working as a custodian along with another part-time job while looking.
At the time, I qualified for benefits working 20 hrs a week and had health insurance.
My oldest ended up in the NICU for a few days, and stayed in the hospital for nearly a week before coming home with us. When we got the bill from the hospital, it was over $20K in expenses. Our co-pay was $5. Awesome.
I don't think they give insurance to anyone under 32 hours now. Nothing wrong with a $20K a year raise! (At least that's how I saw it.)
