He has lied about his race and may have been involved in some embezzling of money from a charity, which led to his ouster as a leader of the Black Lives Matters movement. He has had a falling out with the king of BLM, DeRay Mckesson. Since losing his prominent position within the BLM movement, King has tried to reinvent himself as a feminist. There's nothing wrong with taking a position, but it is interesting that he has changed the focus of his rage since his falling out with BLM. King, like Mckesson, represents a new generation of social justice warriors, like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. I would take anything they say with a grain of salt.
