Kalani's recruiting strategy
One of the major differences I believe we'll see with Kalani's staff is the willingness to take more chances on lesser recruited guys like Chris Wilcox and Michael Davis, good measurables with a higher upside, but needing development. Bronco did this to a certain extent, especially later in his tenure, but I could see Kalani really pushing this as a way to improve the overall athleticism of the roster. Ed Lamb's experience at SUU could prove invaluable in this respect. Ideally, Kalani & Co. will get to the point where the roster is mostly filled out with 3 star kids. But I like the route they are taking now where they'd rather take a chance on an under developed kid with the physical tools vs signing the next best 2 star kid who attended the BYU camp and has pretty much gotten the most out of his physical ability.

With the staff making a harder push for more of the highly rated kids, I can see a scenario where more back-filling is necessary at the end of the process due to the holding of scholarships. So hitting home runs with unheralded recruits may become a necessity. It will be very interesting to see how things play out over the next few years.
