RE: Since I went out on a limb earlier regarding The Big 12, the same source
Okay, here's the thing about sharing information from "insider sources". I think most of us on CB like hearing any tidbits of info you can get from connected friends, or perhaps you are connected yourselves. I also think it's extremely foolish to assume people sharing info like this need to tell us exactly who their source is. If the source wanted to be outed, they would have just gone to the media directly.

On the other hand, it is very helpful if you could tell us generally how your source is connected. Is it a person in the athletics department? A spouse of someone that works there? Is it a booster? Did you talk to a player? Or maybe you got your info from someone who is a friend of someone else who works in the athletics department (or any derivative of this scenario).

If your source is someone you know personally who works higher up in the athletics department..it makes it easier to trust the info. If your source is a friend of a friend of a friend that knows a player, your info is still interesting, but I'd take it with a grain of salt.

It's just helpful to have an idea of how close your source is so we can manage expectations. In any of those cases, the info is still interesting to hear.

Btw...this post is directed towards anyone sharing "insider information, not just Cougarbib.
