Two or four could make all the difference to BYU sports' future
In our own little world we think we're a no brainer, and we've got good reasons to believe we're qualified. But while we all happily post here the reports that affirm our belief, a few reports don't even include us, and others list us as no. 3 behind Cinci and Houston. It's that possibility that worries me. If they stop at 2, although we think adding Houston is silly, that scenario does make some sense geographically: take WV off the island with Cinci, don't create a new one by adding a school already in the middle. It also meshes with some insider reports that UT gets to pick one (Houston, under pressure by its state government) and OU. If that's the case OU needs to pick us or we're hosed, despite arguably having the best resume. I don't trust the good old boys in TX to allow a rational choice if a political one is more expedient. And we all know how important this is to the future of sports, especially football, at BYU.
