...that the show had ever dedicated an entire hour to a single topic. It made me not want to watch the upcoming games. The IOC is a corrupt, evil organization. And the Olympics is their way of gaining power and money. It is incredibly sad.

Two comments. Civilized Democratic nations are beginning to back out of the bidding process. That leaves only communist totalitarian regimes to bid on the games. Which really isn't a problem for the IOC because that's where they want the games to be anyway. It makes it easier to put on a spotless games because dissent is silenced and these types of Governments are more willing to pay bribes as well as agree to the IOCs outrageous demands.

And did you know where the idea of running the torch through the host country in a lead up the games came from? That came from the 1936 games, when Hitler's Nazi Germany wanted a way to advertise how awesome Germany was by showing off the German countryside.

I will probably watch the Olympics this year, but not with the same level of joy I once had.
