I read some reviews beforehand, and these are pretty much considered the best noise-cancelling headphones. There are better headphones out there, particularly for audiophiles, but if you want a quality pair of headphones that have top-of-the-line noise cancelling, these are the way to go (assuming you are okay with the price).

I've gone on a number of flights with them, and they really do make a difference. After I have them on for a while and then take them off, I am surprised by how loud the cabin is.
