Wasn't the release by BYU after the announcement basically a three-liner that said, "We're interested."?
I've done press releases for major organizations. Unless the situation is really sticky (read: you're being sued), you can get off a good page and a half release in a handful of hours. A three-liner would take 15 minutes to put together.
