our stadium to 90K or so. Build it, and they will come. Why?
If we can sell 65K seats and fill our stadium with the crappy teams that have come to Provo to play the past few years, just think about how much more exciting a season of home games will be when we are playing other Big XII teams every week. It is not only an opportunity, it's an insurance policy
If the Big XII blows up un 8 years, teams will be scrambling to find a new home. While a BYU program selling out 65k at home games is enticing, a team selling out seats of 90k will be irresistible to any conference save the sec and pac-snobby 12. We will easily find a home right along with Texas and Oklahoma.
And while many argue we won't sell out, I call Bull. The 65k stadium has been around for decades while the population and growth in Utah has skyrocketed. There are simple a ton more people in Utah than there was when the stadium expanded to 65k. The Fans are there, BYU just has to figure out how to get them into the stadium.
Joining the Big XII does 90% of that work for us.
Expand to 90k. It would work.
