The path to a college football hustle, by Desmond Howard
Sign with a pac 12 school out of high school and then leave on a mission on the complete other side of the world. Work really hard at avoiding football for two years. Near the end of your mission switch schools.
Attend new school and in your second start as a true freshman have a season ending injury.
The second year play a full year.
The third year, play less than 4 and a half games, suffer a season ending injury.
The fourth year, play about a half and suffer another season ending injury.
After your 3rd season ending injury you work really hard to get back and try again. You end up dethroning the returning starter.
Thus, your hustle is complete. If only other schools would follow this exact formula.

but if it really were a clear advantage don't you think that the coach would force some guys to take a 2 year break?
