granted, I am still on my trial run, so far I really like it. Now I don't have my antenna up to watch my local channels, but I do get the local CBS channel on PS Vue. And for $34.99 per month I get all of the channels I care about including all the ESPN and FS channels I want. Sure I don't get the Pac 12 network, but do i care? Not really. And while the PS Vue's DVR feature has some limits (only saves shows for 30 days) I don't have to pay extra for it or for HD Channels. I will no longer have to pay for cable boxes ($10.00 x 2).
And as an added bonus, the office my wife could go into for work (she was not required to go in...she telecommutes) is closing, the company she works for will now start paying for our internet
I am writing this because I know others might be thinking about cord cutting, I wanted to relate my experience so far. Younger people who did not grow up with cable have had no trouble with this, but this is kind of a leap for someone like me, who has lived with cable for 30+ years.
Without my wife's work paying for internet, I am still going to save $90. If I did not add Hulu (without commercials) its an extra 10 per month. LIking Hulu so far as well.
Internet $69.00
PS Vue $34.95
ooma phone $4.00
Hulu $11.99 (adding this as well)
Total $119.99
Currently paying $209 for Xfinity triple play.
I love that I am no longer paying for all of those stupid channels that i never watch. I am looking forward to the day where we can simply choose the channels we want and not have to pay for any more than those.
