Here's the problem Taysom has. He doesn't get to make mistakes. If he makes a
bad decision, fans will say "Tanner never would have done something like that". If he throws a poor pass, fans will say "Tanner would have completed that". If he gets sacked, "Tanner would have thrown it quicker". Heck, even when the line was overwhelmed by UCLA and our run game really struggled, people were saying, "Tanner would have fixed that because he would have completed passes and slowed down UCLA".

Apparently the most perfect QB to ever play the game is on the sidelines and would not only not make mistakes that Taysom makes, he would complete the passes Taysom misses, and he forces the defense to play soft defense. Where was this guy last year? That would have been awesome to have that guy on the field! He sounds amazing.

Truth is Tanner is flawed as well. He didn't complete 80% of his passes last year. He did make bad decisions. Sometimes terrible decisions. He did lock in on his first option a ton. He was awful throwing over the middle of the field. He almost always chose to throw to sideline routes. He did get sacked on occasion. He did have trouble with some defensive schemes. He did lose a game to a REALLY bad team.

I know there's always a better option on the bench but maybe we can have just a tiny amount of patience for our QB who has earned the starting job and is learning a new offense along with the rest of the team. Including the perfect QB on the sideline.
