Youtube "Social Expeirment videos" are about as evil as they come.
I do mean evil.

First, let's set the stage for the videos I'm talking about. I will not link to them for reasons I will mention later- but an example would be they put a "homeless kid" on the street to see if anyone will help. For hours they are ignored until finally some homeless guy will come to help the child. Sounds great right? Wrong. Wrong as yewt.

Second, let me tell you about these channels to begin with. Many of them originate from "prank video" channels. In these prank videos the people in the video will stage an assault or go into the inner city and make racially charged and offensive statements in order to get "punched". These are likely staged (which in this case is better than being real)- but if they are fake they are promoting dangerous and offensive stereotypes- and if they are real they are being absolutely disgusting.

Third, understand these people are not sociologists or psychologists, they do not have the proper intentions, mindset, or training to do any types of experimentation involving real people. They have no idea how to deal with any of the needs that homeless people have which often go well beyond money.
,
That sets up where I have my biggest problem. They aren't helping the homeless at all. They are faking these to get youtube likes for channels they have monetized. Let's take the case of a video some of you may have heard of. A person gives a homeless man $100, the homeless man then goes into a Liquor store with the money, they follow him back and he gives a bag full of food to other homeless people in the park? Great story right? It currently has 46 million views.... These videos tend to get about a dollar for every 1000 views... That is nearly $46K.

Oh, this story gets worse.

The creator of the video set up a crowdfunding for the homeless man. He raised over $140K. Guess who never saw the money, and ended up dying homeless? The homeless man in the original video.

Sorry for the random rant, but I keep seeing people post these videos on social media and there should be more awareness with how awful these videos are.
