Division Bell Walk-on
I've heard some people say that Taysom coming off the field to go sit on the
bench all alone after a bad series or a turnover was a sign that he didn't have wide spread support. I don't buy it, but I'll address it later.

I've also heard a lot of people wonder where the Taysom of old has been. There were complaints that he looked tentative and slow as he progressed through his reads. To an extent, these are valid criticisms. The one oddity is that he's much more "the Taysom of old" when we go into the 2-minute drill. When he's footloose and fancy free, he brings his fire back to the game. That same fire isn't as apparent when he's thinking deeply about what Ty's trying to implement.

The more I watch his reactions after a bad series, the more I'm convinced that he's seeking time alone to process what Ty's been telling him, going over the play while it's fresh in his mind and thinking about what he could've/should've done differently. He's desperately trying to earn a spot in the NFL and I think he knows that Ty's system will get him there if he can master it. The problem is that the offense that Ty knows is so much more complex than anything Dr. Anae had. It's based on real-time defensive reads and WR adjustments of routes and throwing to a spot rather than throwing to a man. A slight shift in the defensive alignment, or a bit of shadow movement of a WR's pre-snap movement will change the spot he throws to. It's a whole lot more complex than the same 8-plays over and over that Dr. Bob ran.

I think Ty also sees enough improvement week to week to stick with Taysom as the starter.

Also, let's not forget that Tanner is getting tutored on the sideline after every play. That will yield fantastic results when he finally does get in. It's a win-win for both qb's.
